Comments and Reviews
Aimed At: Individuals with a good credit score that clear their balances in full most months, and would like discounts on Hilton Hotels.
Review: The Hilton chain of hotels has had the HHonors rewards scheme in place for some time now, and this card is an extension of that rewards system. Using the card earns you varying HHonors points (hard to quantify financially, but we estimate this at about a 0.5% rebate on your card spend), depending on whether you use the card in Hilton hotels and related establishments, or elsewhere.

This card is therefore worth considering if you frequent Hilton hotels. Not only are you likely to already use the HHonors program, but you gain additional benefits, such as complimentary health club privileges.

As with all rewards cards, it is best for those that clear their balance in full each month, otherwise the benefits are more than cancelled out by the higher APR (15.9%). There is a 6-month 0% offer for balance transfers, so some short-term debt is acceptable, but if not cleared during the interest-free period, will be charged at the standard 15.9% APR.

Overall, a nice addition to the HHonors scheme, and if you are already on this program, then it may be worth considering this card. As people that frequent Hilton hotels are likely to clear credit card debt, Hilton are looking for a higher-earning target market (although you do not require an exceptional credit score to obtain this card), fitting into a healthy niche, and as such will provide some competition for American Express’ charge cards.
